Has anyone bought anything from these lately.Im interested in a sleeping bag from there and its cheaper than anywhere else although i checked their security certificate before entering my credit card details and its out of date.
Hence its put me off buying the sleeping bag

Cant say I have, why not call them up or ask another retailer for a price match?

Thanks Running Man.
Scary thing is i was in Action Outdoors on saturday although im not sure why because their prices are sky high compared to everywhere else.Ive been in there a few times and never buy anything.I think i must imagine one day even their sales items are worth the money. And also scary i was actually after a snugpak sleeping bag.

I'm quite suprised as they have done me some excellent deals - did you ask them for a price match when you were there?
Are you comparing their shop prices to internet prices?
Show/hide user stats
No i dont ask them for a price match.I would rather buy the products i want from a store that has reasonable prices rather than one that has prices bumped up but are prepared to lower them for the sake of a sale.It just doesnt seem right to me.

And no its just instore prices as opposed to internet prices.

I'm not sure I'd worry too much about the certificate having expired, at least for proving the stability of the firm in question. It's just used to provide reassurance that you're on the right site and (perhaps more importantly) to enable SSL encryption to be used to protect your credit card and other details over the internet.

Probably due to poor admin on their part letting it go out of date.

Cheers,

Steve (an IT Manager who buys certificates for his employers, and may have first hand experience of the type of poor admin described above!)

Mmmm, 2+ weeks out of date is pretty slack though, even I'm not that bad.

You got any examples reece? I'm sure brand reps would be interested to hear of over pricing!

Not off the top of my head i havent.
Your hardly spoilt for choice at the store, mind you its not very big at all.
It just seems to be the sort of place for people with big wallets or people who dont know too much about gear/hiking/trekking etc that dont realise you dont have to buy the most expensive gear to get by.

I wouldnt buy off the website without that security in place
