Following all the hype on here im thinking of giving the Terroc's a try so i was wondering if anyone has found the best(ie cheapest) place to get them from

Would recommend you buy in person from a retailer where you can try them on and has got (or will get for you) the relevant sizes to try -- expect to try half a size up and down. Run and Become were very helpful when I bought mine. Getting exactly the right size is much more important than saving a few quid IMHO.

Just noted a shop is selling Terroc330's via eBay for £55 plus £3 postage.
Like Zubald advises, I'm sticking with the shop fitting, as Inov8 have a list of stockists on their website. http://www.inov-8.com/product-locator-UK.htm

For the first pair you do need to buy personally. And you will need to play around with them for a while.
I bought mine at Snow and Rock in Covent Garden. They measured my feet and I bought that size. For the first few times I used them I wondered whether I could have done with half a size bigger - although there was never a hint of a blister.
They feel very differently to boots. Your toes can feel the edge of the shoe - like with any shoes. This takes a while to get used to. And I've got one foot that is broader than another. Over a couple of trips this shoe has stretched a little - rather like tennis shoes do. They now fit just like a glove.
Now, I would have no hesitationn of buying my size over the net - and I might have to as it is so diffficult to track down stores (S&R don't carry a big stock).
Finally, a couple of people I know have bought a size bigger than their shoe size and I'm convinced their shoes are too big.
So, find a dealer and play around with them for a good half an hour or so.
I find them to be brilliant. Have just completed five days full backpacking with them - no problems at all.

Andy has got it spot on. i too got mine from the same place and with the same procedure. they feel "tight" as first, but then again the shoe feels very different to anything else you've ever worn. they fit like a second skin, are extremely comforable and are by a wide margin the real db's.
they don't need hype.
am now waiting to see the new models coming out before buying another pair.

Wandering off to get mine on Saturday. I'll need to remember to wear a pair hiking socks for the extra width.
I'm wondering if it's worthwhile getting sealskinz waterproof socks to go with the shoes for walking in wet moorland.

Just to let people know that http://www.run-4-it.com in Aberdeen have a range of Inov-8 shoes in stock, including the Terroc. I can safely say that as they've promised to hold onto a pair of Terroc 10.5s for me when they come in. They also have various items of safety kit, for ex, reflective beanies and vests. Picked up some reflec tape for my 'sac.

Haven't been in yet, but I've checked their website, and Up and Running in York (Fossgate) look to have them in stock - and I've had some good reviews of their customer service..
Have people found they need to step down to thin socks for them? I have some X-socks Hikers which are really comfy, and I'd like to continue using them if possible - but I'm worried they might be too thick for shoes...

Picked up mine from Run4It today, and got a pair of SealSkinz sock just in case. Intend wearing them out this weekend if I can get up to Glas Maol or down further afield to Schiehallion. I'll take boots in car just in case.

It's hard to say what sock's will be best, and it'll depend on their particular fit on you. At various times I've used Smartwool Adrenalines, Light Hikers or even Hikers the same as I use in my walking boots, or Sealskinz Mid Light Merinos (I can't fit the Mid Thermal Merinos in!). That's on top of a set of volume adjusters and blue Superfeet. I've found the uppers are so soft that providing I take a bit of time to adjust the lacing I can make them comfortable regardless of which sock I'm using.

Was going to ask which Sealskinz to invest in but Matt's just answered my question :o) Got a pair of 330's at the weekend and first impressions are very, very good.

I got a pair of mid light sealskinz to go with the terrocs. Good combo, but a bit to warm for summer use I suspect...
|
 |
I opted for the thicker Sealskinz, cos they have more padding, thinking that my poor feet need as much padding as they can get. Also, if it's warm, I'll wear other socks.
I did walk home from work in the Terrocs, and reckoned I got home quicker than in my heavier Clarks shoes.

Terrocs: they done good. 35km walk from Inverey, round back of Beinn Iutharn, up to Loch nan Euan, then camped out below An Socach before heading back to Inverey. Wore merino smartwool socks out, and changed into Sealskinz socks for boggy bits and river crossings. No new blisters, some friction as I left on the waterproof socks today and they got hot (as mentioned previously I went for the thicker ones).
I've yet to see about them in rainy conditions.

Bought a pair of Terrocs from Up and Running on Friday and wore them in the lakes this weekend.
Completed a big loop around Langdale with a wild camp and a few boggy bits and 12 Wainwrights, Terrocs were brill although I got them wet a few times they dried out overnight and when my feet were wet, they weren't uncomfortable. Would probably have been better with seal skin but you live and learn
|
 |
Frank, as I mentioned in another thread, the Sealskinz coped with 8km in the dry walk back today, but not as well as the Smartwool ones coped on the walk out.
I don't know what the weather's been like in the Lakes, but it was a scorcher in the Cairngorms, so going through streams in the Terrocs was refreshing.
Big downside though...with no worries about my feet, I started to notice how uncomfortable my big Berg' Anteus was...but that's another story ;)

i've found that as they fit my feet better than other footwear (they fit snugly around all of my foot with no movement inside the shoe anywhere - and supreme heel support/hugging) i can get away with just one pair of thinner socks(always 2 pairs with boots otherwise it's blister time) i use the shorty smartwool adrenaline socks.
i would suggest that if you get blisters with these shoes then you've got the wrong size - or you need to lace them properly.
