Hi,

I am going to be doing a couple of walks in the area if anyone wants to meet up.

Cheers,

Neil

40swalkersnorth have a meet up in Patterdale that weekend, some will be staying in the YHA.
For details have a look at Patterdale weekend

There will be several walks on each day, the meeting place is 09.30 outside the Patterdale hotel on Sat/Sun/Mon morning.

The notes on the site say the weekend is already full, but if you are already there & you ask nicely I am sure you will be accepted, they are a very friendly bunch.

Bear in mind, though, that most clubs have limits to the number of people they allow to join in a walk, or to go away on a group trip. This is for safety and insurance reasons. I'm sure most walkers are, as you say, a friendly bunch, and happy to walk with new people they meet in places like the Lakes. This is more of an option for private groups than for clubs though. You may need to be a member to walk with an organised group. It's probably best to get in touch with the group to find this out if you want to walk with them, rather than just turning up.

I hope everyone has a good weekend in Patterdale though, whether or not it's as part of an organised trip.

In reply to TJ Maddox and the 40sWN message. We are a very friendly group, but for insurance and safety reasons it is members only and the weekend and walks are already full. Sorry, but please don't just turn up on the day.

Everyone's more than welcome to join the group and we'd be delighted to meet new members on future events.

Thanks Mick

Hey people! I didn't want to join a club walk!

I will do Blencathra via Halls fell on saturday (depending on what time I get there) and Skiddaw via Ullock Pike ridge on sunday.

Cheers,

Neil.
