Whats the best way to light it?

Just treated myself to a sportster stove from Millets (i had a voucher).

Any how i am going to use it on weekends away camping (car based as im into mountain biking) But all my attempts at lighting it result in a nice big eye brow removing yellow ball of fire for the first 10 seconds or so.

Is there some trick to getting it to light cleanly? Obvously im aware of the fact the supply tube vapourises and once hot super heats the petrol vapour prior to combustion.

And is the Tranga Fuel bottle Ok for storing petrol on a trip as i dont fancy carying a jery can?

Nope the sportster always goes up with a quickfire ball then settles down.

thats Ok as long as i know to lay flat when lighting it ;-)

and whats this about petrol clogging it up am i beter off filling it up with coleman fuel at £10 a ltr???

Rumor was that lots of use on unleaded will cause the regulator to foul up.

So I haven't obviously used my sportster enough to find out given i have only had it 4 years and i estimate only burnt a good 15 liters of petrol and is still running like a trojan. I would say that every 20 liters just use a litre of coleman fuel to keep the lines clear.

That should keep your stove running in good condition.
