not terribly outdoors, but here goes....looking for a 30+l rucksack to hold a 36x27x35 cm laptop and climbing stuff. found Lowe AlpineServer and M H Project on raw outdoors, butthey're out of stock. any suggestions / bargains £25-35.
cheers,SW

Get yourself a TechAir laptop slip case that will fit the laptop exactly. Then it can 'slip' into any suitable rucksack of your choosing and will be protected from impacts, falls etc.

Do you realise that the laptop as defined above is 34 litres, that wouldn't leav much space for climbing kit? It's also a bit boxy, are you sure it's not a desktop?

I think he means 36x27x3.5cm, well I hope he does otherwise the thought of heaving a desktop up the side of a rock face brings tears to my eyes.

Mmmmmm, maybe it would be classed as a new sport, "Extreme Computing"?!!!!! LOL

ah, well spotted John.....but i already have a custom-knitted case for my combined scanner/fax machine so i can get route notes and send back pictures of dodgy holds when actually climbing. My sherpa jumars up behind carrying the 3x12V batteries :-).. i think i did drop a decimal point....decimal (red)point??

I sort of wanted a dedicated bag that suspended the 'puter so it didn't bang on the floor when setting the sack down. will look at slipcases tho' craig - ta.

I think JanSport (sp?) do various designs which incorporate notebook carrying.

Crumpler make a combination camera/computer bag. The laptop compartment is as secure as it could get and if you chose to take out all the velcro dividers,(1 min.), you have a day sac. A warning- if you're a lightweight fairy you won't like it, Crumpler are strong but heavy.
