Just wondering how many more names they can come up with for back ventilation systems. Noticed the Osprey ones pictured had "airscape" and "airspeed" on them.
Anyone think of anything better/more tedious/ more amusing?

 Atmos 65L????
Where?!

 |
Have a butchers in the gear section got all the new osprey sacs.

Wonder if you mean an Ariel 65 rather than Atmos 65 ? I can't find a reference to an Atmos of that size on their website. Edited to say: I take it back - checked the Gear section and there it is !! OM is ahead of Osprey's own website !!

it isn't exactly lightweight though is it ... 1750g for large version.
|
 |
Can't find a refernce to that anywhere Osprey-related. Ruddy good job too or I'd be cursing and throwing things, I loved my Atmos but it was too small to sustain my eating habits on multi-day trips. Ah well... my second hand Arc'teryx jobby seems ok now i've performed some minor surgery on the back.

Nooo, it's true! And I wont be able to get them on the cheap anymore =( ... Watch the classifieds for anything i might deem 'surplus' if i can't resist the urge to Atmos ;o)

Weird... it doesn't seem to be on the Osprey page in the Atmos section.

web site is usually a bit slow! Des - not exactly heavy either. I've got an Atmos 35 which carries beautifully. I've been waiting for a larger verion (50L too small, impreseed that LPP got all her TGOC kit in one, more discipline than me). When you consider it's got a proper frame, it's pretty light.

Hi All,
Thanks for the interest in the Atmos 65.
The reason that neither the Aura 65, Atmos 65 or Talon packs aren''t on our website yet is that they won't be in any stores until December 2006. Therefore we won't be posting any information on our site until then. What you are getting here on Outdoors Magic is a sneak preview of what is to come in the very near future from Osprey.
In regard to the weight of the Atmos 65, remember when making weight comparisons that the Atmos 65 has an air-ventilating backpanel. At 1.7kg it is significantly lighter than other air-venting back systems that are much smaller litreage. I also think that a 65 litre ventilated pack is quite unique.
In regard to back system names using "air" we have 3. Aircore (Stratos series), Airspeed (Atmos & Aura series) and Airscape (Aether, Ariel and Talon series). They are all different and all have air ventilation.
Yours airily
Rob Osprey

Airhead? (for blondes)
Airflick? (for the German market)
Airyarse? (for builders)

 How about just
'airy-back
(available in women's version too?)
|
 |
Your talents are wasted on here, Matt. lol!
|
 |
Anybody know if the Atmos 65 is available yet in the UK? I've not seen it in the shops or online (except USA and ebay).
|
 |
Why the fuss over 65litres, the existing Atmos 50 ltr sack is plenty big enough for a backpacking trip. Surely you're taking too much gear if you need 65ltr.
|
 |
Surely that depends on your kit, where you're going, how long for, food and supplies, the 'style' of backpacking you like......
We're not all the same... :)
Edit: Take me for example - I think the Atmos is possibly the most uncomfortable pack I've ever tried on, lol! ;O)
