Cutting webbing straps

I want to make a little holster thing out of polyprop/acrylic webbing for my camera, so as to attach it to one of the front straps on my rucksack. (Fed up with it bumping around in its case.)

What's the best way to deal with the cut ends of webbing: fold over and stitch or just seal with a hot knife?

Heat seal with a hot knife anyway. If you want to be able to thread the webbing, cut it at an angle of about 45 degrees. If you don't want to thread the webbing, cut at 90 deg, fold over and stitch after heat sealing.

Ive found sealing with a hot knife or flame does the job. Never tried stitching ... probably as hot knives and naked flames are more appealing than sewing ;o)

So seal *and* stitch, will do, thanks John n Moggy.
