Okay thoughts and comments welcome, although all be quickly as after work today I'm off!

Has anyone used or knows anyone who has the Montane Vortex waterproof jacket?

I'm looking for a very light , packable waterproof for running and packing intt a bum bag and this looks great. I don't want hundreds of features or anything too technical, nor do I want 5000 recomendations about other jackets.

And I REALLY don't want to start another Thread war :)

Just simply has anyone used one and if so did you like it?

It looks like the answer is no...

Still no response? (c'mon people at Montane) there's just gorra be some.

I've seen Buffalo fans, Snugpackers but never come across a Montaneer yet.

No...I do have a Montane Extrem smock though and it's well made, with some good design features and some near misses.

I know you don't want 5000 other suggestions but IMHO the Marmot Precip is worth a look, my wife's is used for exactly the situations you describe and it's considerably better than my equivalent Lowe Adrenaline jacket. So there you are, still room for 4,999 others.

I agree with Ben - my Adrenaline smock packs down to nowt, but the hood is not good in really strong showers. The Precip seems to be a bit better put together and they are? (were) on sale at SNOW+ROCK.

The Montane kit I've used has been generally very well made. Not tried the Vortex though.

"I've seen Buffalo fans, Snugpackers but never come across a Montaneer yet..."

I'm one! Top kit. Have used most brands & if you're after no-nonsense, bomb-proof, hype-free clothing then Montane are one of the best manufacturers around.

Mind you, I *would* say that...

LOL!

I've never figured out why they want to ref when they could play...
Show/hide user stats
Cos they couldn't play mate...

Why would ANYONE want to be a ref in a football game?

All they seem to get is abuse and criticism..

Weird.

Ok Ben, 'fess up - why *would* you say that?

Oh, right - sorry. Other Ben.

This is getting confusing. Maybe I should give myself a catchy nickname?
