My first post so please be gentle. Has anyone had any experience with this tent? I am looking for somthing to fit myself and a friend for walking weekends of maybe 2 or 3 nights. Any other sugestions welcome but we are on a budget. Thanks for the help.

i nearly got a coleman but decided to go for the vango tempest 200 instead, its worth a look as it can be had for around £70
also the coleman tents can be found on good offer at www.gooutdoors.co.uk

How did you find the vango Moggy? Is it big enough to fit two bodies plus kit?

I use a tempest and its a cracking tent for me and 1 other and kit. You will have to pull kit inside tent though if you want to cook inside the vestibule, make sure and prime stove outside and then move in if doing this. (oh yeah and entirely at your own risk ;p)
I also manage quite well with the tent on my own although there are lighter tent out there for that purpose.

Gareth, not sure if you've got your tent yet but I looked at the coleman epsilon 3 but decided on the Coleman Quartz 3 as it'll fit me and my fat friend (and gear)comfortably in the bedroom and have room to cook in the porch (unzipping the porch grounsheet first) if we had to in very inclement weather.

an epsilon three will fit three average chaps and their gear fine. for this reasons we have chosen these tents for our ten tors teams this year. very good tents.

Not got the tent yet. I am still torn between the Coleman Epsilon and the Vango Tempest. I think it comes down to which is more stable in high winds. Anyone know the answer?
|
 |
i have the tempest 200 and its stood up to some strong wind in the lakes at sprinklin tarn.it feels very stable.dont know about the epsilon.
|
 |
Ive had the tempest in strong winds at angle tarn and it stood up really well, got a bit flappy at points but i think that was more due tothe way i pitched it.
|
 |
mine was a bit flappy too moggy.i have been told that tunnel tents are flappy in strong winds,so its nothing to worry about.

Thanks all, in the end I have gone for the Vango Tempest 200. Still a close call and I am not sure that it makes much difference in the end, but the Vango brand just inspired slightly more confidence.

 Hey Gareth...
Realise you posted this quite a while ago, but i was just wondering what your thoughts on the Tempest were seeing as you bought it in the end?
My Mam's thinking of going for one, and is having the same problem choosing between the Epsilon and the Tempest?
I'd really appreciate any feedback you've got!
