Which boots?

I'm looking for some new boots.

I have been using Raichle Thunder boots for summer walking in the Alps for a few years and they have been great, very comfy, lots of grip etc. They are now worn out and need replacing for the new season. I have some Scarpa SL's but they are heavy and not very comfy plus my feet have expanded somewhat in the years since I bought them so they are a tightish fit.

So, I need comfy, wide fitting boots that take a custom footbed, that are lightweight and waterproof. They need to have a reasonably stiff sole and agressive tread pattern (as I found out last summer on a 45 degree shale slope with a big drop below). They will be mainly used for alpine high level walking/scrambling plus similar in the Lakes.

Any ideas?

p.s. where is the best shop for boot fitting in the North West of England?

Have you had a look at any of the Scarpa ZG range?

Have a look at the AKU Vertigo

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have a look at those.

Do you think that the Meindl Air Revolution 2 boots would be a possibility?

Yeah meindl's are usually quite wide fitting, you could also look at HanWags.
