Can the tent experts help me with this puzzle

Some time ago I got what I think is a bargain of eBay. It's a tent made by Ajungilak. Brand new. Never been out oof the bag but no info re model.

I've searched the web but can't find any tents by Ajungilak. As they make top notch sleeping bags I assume they made decent tents.

Tent is a dome type and weighs about 4kg. It's a 2/3 person, pitches inner first, has four poles and seems very good quality if a little heavy.

I'll tell you how much I paid for it later

Harry, it's a mystery alright. Maybe it was a sample that never got past the prototype stage?

We currently stock the T3 tunnel tent from Ajungilak

Isn't Aj. part of marmot (or mammut)? Might be worth looking under that name

Ajungilak make it very plain on their website that they are part of Mammut and Raichle. That doesn't help, as a search will always take you to the main joint company site anyway.

I assume there's some kind of Ajungilak logo or label on the tent itself rather than it being a Millets tent stuffed into an Ajungilak sleeping bag stuffsack.

Sounds an interesting beast anyway.

Maybe try calling Outdoor Element 01625 508218? they are the UK importers of Ajungilak and Raichle.

Keep us informed please :)

Hamish. not that one either I'm afraid.

It's really nice. Very well made. Only the weight lets it down.

For what I paid for it I couldn't grumble if it was twicce as heavy

John, it's definitely genuine. Lables on fly and tent.

I bought a VauDe family tent off ebay. It wasn't cheap. £170 or something, although cheaper than a comparable family tent from a good manufacturer. I have since looked and find no reference to this tent anywhere. I have now realised it is a exact copy of the WC Homested 7. What I am guessing is that a company has copied this, and it now ends up with Vaude labels etc. To be fair though it performs really well and has stood up to several batterings by the weather so I am not that bothered, since I have saved on the price of the Homested 7.
