I guess it's ok to use it on event fabrics even though it says recommended for gore-tex.

Also, anybody any recommendations for getting grease/oil mixture off an event Rab Latok jacket as I got the bloody thing jammed in the car door and there is a big patch on the sleeve and I dunno if it will have an effect on the material. Already tried washing in soap flakes as there is no other way other than Nikwax wash in stuff but I doubt that will make a difference.

Can live with the mark as long as it doesn't effect the material

I believe this type of subject has been covered before. You can wash the garment in normal non-bio but then need to use tech wash to make sure its all rinsed out then re-proof it.

If i'm wrong someone will correct me.

I think you may be able to use biological washing powder if necessary (though I could be wrong)to remove the grease/oil.

I would then make sure your washer detergent drawer is free from all washing powder and run the machine empty on a hot wash to remove all traces of detergent.

Then wash the jacket again with Nikwax Wash In or soap flakes (to remove the residue from the washing powder). *You may wish to do another seperate rinse.

Following this reproof the jacket.

You can use TX direct on Event fabrics (recent Nikwax literature I have seen states this).

*As Simon says a few weeks ago there was quite a big thread on washing Event clothing - a search will probably bring it up. IIRC some manufactures recommended a second rinse.

Cheers chaps, never caught that thread. Back to the washing machine then!

I wonder whether Grangers 2 in 1 might simplify the care of Event.
