Help. please.
Sorry to bore everyone with tents again but at least it's fairly specific.
I've decided to celebrate my 50th year by doig some multiday backpacks through the summer. Might do the PW or a few shorter ones in the Lakes and Yorkshire. Thing is I'll be carrrying all the kit and my beloved Voyager needs to be lightened up a bit for this one.Head office has allowed me a top budget of £200. So after internetting, speaking to mates etc I've pretty much paired it down to a Big Agnes SL1 or a TN Laser.
It seems to me that: The BA is a (bit) lighter. It's also about £30 cheaper. It looks like a real tent. BUT it's inner pitch first aganst the Laser pitch as one which is quite a big issue for me although I've never had major problems with the voyager.
But then I've heard it said that the Laser can be a real faff to pitch and tension properly. Is this true? and does it negate the pitch as one benefits ?
This is very important for me to get right and a lot of money to spend so I would be really grateful if anyone has experience of one or either of these tents and can share their wisdom with me.
