Lightweight Fleece
Wot's the lightest?

Any suggestions for lightweight fleeces - the lighter the better?

My wife has two TNF Auroras, the newer one being around 70g less than the older one at about 190g, so that's the benchmark although it's more than I want to pay. My Berghaus 100-weight one is looking a bit too heavy at 300g.

I'm just looking for something very light but cosy to complement our Fuera smocks.

I almost bought a VR jacket, but I've talked myself out of it, as this combo will be more flexible.

Jack Wolfskin Gecko. My men's medium weighs 225 grams. It's available for around £35. I've been using one for five years and it's excellent.

The "R-1" fleece line from Patagonia tends to be very light.

Thanks folks. Will check them out.

The R1 Pullover is 305 grams in a medium size - quite light but the same weight as the Berghaus one Eric wants to replace.

Haglofs Single. 235g for a large.

Everyone seems to be suggesting lots of good lightweight fleeces.

Just remember that too lightweight means less insulation.

And on a sarcastic note - I find doing a big poo before walking saves around 200g.

It's a personal opinion, nothing more...

Speak for yourself Dave. I find it saves about 2000g! lol

I'd recommend Groundeffect Cadence top, it's Polartec 100 and weighs 241g. Nice n light and feels as warn as other fleeces I've got that weigh more than 20% more.

Dave, a lightweight fleece means less stitching due to clever design, lighter zips and less faffy pointless features.
Can anyone recommend a lightweight/micro fleece with a full length zip? I can't find any.

Haglofs again, Triton (if you can find one) or the new version called the Gemini. It's got slightly weird pockets but otherwise fantastic.
Or their Dual jacket, pockets are a bit low but it's a great bit of kit.
All the above are Polartec micro with powerstretch bits.

Thanks to all. I've gone for the Haglofs Single.

Actually found the Triton online:

Now if only I could find somewhere to try one on for size :(
