hi, could anyone recommend a decent but cheap waterproof shell jacket for the warmer weather must be cheap though my wife would kill me if I bought yet another walking jacket, bought the Alta2 ayear ago its fantastic but too hot for summer

Hi Johnboy, I've picked up loads of cheap outdoor gear at TK.MAXX. Kean Targhee shoes £85 reduced to £30 and a Montane windshirt reduced to £16 from £35 to name a couple. I've noticed a few gtx jackets from the likes of Lowe Alpine and Sprayway at well under half price. If there's a branch near you it's well worth a look.

Last summer I bought a Keela Stashaway,v. light,v.packable,waterproof and reasonably breathable,it does me ok for summer use.It was only £27 from The Mountaineer in Grassington.
