Very Simple tech washing machine
To save energy (DWR clean/renewal)

Is a full washing machine cycle not overkill for washing/ proofing jackets?

IE <= 40 Degrees will be cold fill only rather than using any hot water twiddling thumbs in hot water tank (and uses electricity with generation losses).

Eg Place large bucket on TV turntable in bath: fill rotate etc:

It would be nice the turntable could have a little motor to oscillate back and forth: eg at low enough power to run from the bathrooms shaver socket (which should contain an isolating transformer). I havent found anything suitable yet.

Perhaps Paramo could make/have made their
own simple device (would also avoid detergent residue etc).

Alternatively, perhaps a special paramo/furtech cycle added to new washing machines (and perhaps some old ones, could have their embedded software upgraded.

You could stick the water, garments and cleaner/proofer in one of these, then get some local kids to tow it behind their bikes. For a warmer wash, paint the drum matt-black and let the sun heat it. For extra agitation, get the kids to tow it over the local BMX course.

On a slightly more serious note, how about sticking the water, garments and cleaner/proofer in an Alpkit Gourdon, sealing it up and then taking it for a run / ride / walk to the pub?
Liked the link BG. I wonder how many pints of nectar i could take camping with one of those......

I was hoping for a serious response: wouldn't it save a lot of energy?

You could try just using your hands and a sink! That'll save untold amounts of energy

;)
