X-Underwear
Very Poor Garments and Customer Service

I recently ordered a new X-Underwear tshirt style baselayer. It was through diret email from the manufacturer in Holland after I registered with them when I bought a pair of socks.

I can say that it's not recommended. The fit is very poor being entirely cylindrical making the neck baggy whilst too tight on the chest. The length is close to a T-Shirt skirt I once saw Souixsie Sioux wearing in 1981.

When I requested a refund they informed me I could return the item at my own risk and they would not refund their postage and would further charge me an admin fee for processing the refund.

I have to say I'm mightily unimpressed with the shirt and their customer service and recommend you don't fall into the same trap.

Not sure about their baselayers, but their socks are rubbish too.

According to the bumph on the packaging they are wee technilogical marvels, but in real life they are totally useless

Aye, I'm not keen on the socks I've tried. The undies are ok but the packaging is ridiculous - 'free rain forest destroyed with every pair'!

Its certainly an unusual looking piece of gear with the orange detailing. Atleast with the socks nobody can see them on you. The quality and detail of it is pretty impressive. I don't find the cut too bad, but I'd agree it is quite fitting across the chest and I'm a fairly slim build. Grouping sizes together (S-M and L-XL) is a slightly odd thing to do.

I like the running socks they do.

I received a very strange email from them recently, offering me a "trial" baselayer that I had to buy at the end of the trial period. WTF?

I didnae take them up on it.

Hi, i'm a rep for Ardblair Sport Importers, we import x-socks and x-undergear into the uk

Chris, not sure who you bought the top from as x-undergear is based in Italy and made there, not in holland. which item was it?

they are designed to be 'tight' fitting as are all compression garments

I was about to ask the same question. I have seen the X-gear underwear on a manequin at my local outdoor shop in Toulouse and it looks to be over-tailored for my liking - more like designer underwear than your usual baselayer.

I haven't tried their underwear, mainly as I have plenty of baselayer items from Helly Hansen & SubZero, but I do have a couple of pairs of their SkyRunner socks. These are very good running socks for all but the hottest days and I have accumulated hundreds of miles in each pair without discomfort. The only problem is that they magnetically attract grass seeds and other spikey plant material. But they are very comfy and manage moisture as well as can be hoped for in a fairly padded sock.

Email was from info@x-universe.com and it was strangely worded as Kev says. Basically the offer of a "X-Bionic Vitalizer Shirt" for 25eur and then after 4 weeks having to complete a survey. It linked to an order page on www.merchandisingdirect.com.

I like the socks, but not as much as smartwool.
