And it looks very interesting especially the Roclite 390 Gtx boots which looks to be aimed very much at the walking market and could tick a lot of boxes for people who previously had misgivings about wet feet and ankle protection etc.

They look very interesting, especially the weight.

Unfortunately according to their 'Find a retailer' search facility, nobody anywhere in the UK has them!.

Aye, interesting that they market it as a paragliding boot!

Also, it wasn't entirely clear from the pictures but it looked to me like all the Roclite shoes were fitted with the old sole design that had the issues with it peeling away, not the re-designed version that cured the problem. It just makes me a little wary... unless they've just managed to include coloured inserts in the redesigned sole...?

Ian, Thanks for the heads up on that. I did notice there had been mention of new products - I just didn't get to check out their site.... and a greatly enhanced site it is, too.
What we need now is some of the gear-mad chaps on this forum to grab a pair and test them out (for us) :o)
I'm out of the market right now, having just bought some spangly new Meindl Vakuums from their shop in Bavaria.

Coloured inserts Matt. I got a pair of 320s at the weekend to replace my 315s, practically the same shoe but the upper are more robust and have some holes in the rand to disperse water, the tongue is also a lot thinner and doesn't sit as high. They also have a little (not very noticeable) more cushioning.

Martin I personally won't be buying the boots because I have too many of their shoes already. I'll stick to wet feet and twisted ankles for now.

Ooh, thanks for the heads-up, Ian. I really might have to try the 390s since I can't afford (literally) to mess up my orthotics by wearing approach shoes and getting wet feet.

They look good, but I'm wary about Gore-tex in shoes.

Let us all know how you get on Kate. I may get A a pair when she's back on the Fells.

Oh, those mids look really nice.

I emailed Inov-8 about the retailers and got this reply:

This is because the Roclite 390 GTX has not come into our warehouse yet and as such, is not available from any retailers. We are expecting the stock in the second half of this month so they should be available in shops late august/early September.

I've been using one of the new Race Pro packs(12ltr), they're excellent. Feels better to have the weight of the water directly onto your hips than up your back with a conventional hydration system. really comfy.
Show/hide user stats
Steve have you been using it for running?
Show/hide user stats
Steve, how have you found the size of the 12ltr? I'm thinking of getting either the 12 or 18 but have no idea what you can realistically fit into one!
