Hello all, Still weighing up the options for a tent for trip to Zambia. Its gonna be hot so require a tent with mesh inner and two doors pref, lightweight 1/2 person but two skin so I can use it elsewhere too. Looked at three tents on USA site which were: Marmot Bise, Mountain Hardwear Skyledge and Sierra designs ASP. These three they are allowed to import, others they aren't (weirdos). Quite liked the MSR Hubba hubba, can I get that here? cheers all

I can reccomend the sky ledge, its solid, mesh inner, light etc... Thats what I use, its very watrproof as there are no vents to leak at the top, but still mssively condensation proof and even after cooking in it closed the worst you will get is a tiny bit of moisture above where you cook, and it certainly wont drip. Its a really nice little tent, my single fault would be there is a lack of velcro fastenings on the storm flaps over the zips, with only one little strip at the bottom, but I will be able to sort that esily enough with a bit of velcro sewn on. Dont know about the others, but the Skyledge is very good. You can pitch is only inner in Zambia too which would be great for keeping cool. Despits its all mesh inner in horrible conditions its sturdy, and completely dry inside, and to be honest its not even breezy inside. Oh and one other thing, there are 2 peg points on the ends without doors, these wont reach the ground if on anything slightly unlevel, but stick a cheap hair band on it and you have an elasticated peg point which really works well.

Do you know where i can get one in the uk for price comparison? Sometimes it looks cheaper in the US but then you get whacked with import costs and I think cos of the weight shipping charges too

It would still be cheaper getting it from the US I would say. Its jsut under $300 there, I dont know if you can buy them in the UK (mine came form US) but for other MHW tents, the price in sterling is only a slight fraction then it is in dollars, at the current exchange rae even if you are stung 60 quid or so for import nonsense, you will still be getting it cheaper.
