I know I saw this on a thread recently but cannot find it! Sorry! I a going to order one from Canada (about £56). If you have done the same, how much import duty and handling fees did you pay on top? Thanks very much, Chris

Perhaps due to an oversight at Royal Mail, I paid none. The package didn't have a customs declaration on it either, which may also have had a bearing on the lack of a charge. Had it been caught, Royal Mail's handling fee would have been £16 in addition to the import duty.

 £16 + duty? Ouch!

I paid around £20 for mine! It does take the edge off it, that is until you light your first fire, and then the pain goes up in smoke!

Remember, about £8 of the 'import duty' is the Royal Mail's fee: The Post Office may charge you for clearing your package through Customs. They handle packages for Customs examination and, if required, open and re-pack them. ... The Post Office fees are collected at the same time as Customs charges but are completely separate ... HM Revenue & Customs Even if the value is stated on the package, the still 'have to' open up the package to check. You also have no way to pay for the duty in advance. It is an amazingly childish system that we plebs suffer under in these days of global trade.

I can't really remember but i think i was stung for around £14. The pain soon fades.

No charge for me,would have paid up to get one of these,if Bob C is about can you tell me which titanium kettle you sourced Andy H please(the one that holds the bushbuddy exactly)

I'll be getting some more in next shipment, so should have some before Xmas.

I got my Bushbuddy on saturday (just as I was about to leave on a weekend camping trip) [Yippee!]. I paid Fritz C$100 which worked out at £48.55. It arrived unmolested by HM Revenue & Customs. I note that Ultralightoutdoorgear have the Tibetan Titanium `900` Mug / Pot for £26.99 which at 4" tall and 5" diameter would take a Bushbuddy quite nicely. It weighs 76g, 96g inc. lid.

I was hit up for £16 - but, after extensive use, it was well worth sucking back the extra
|
 |
I was hit for £34.58, inc 'handling' charge of £12. Never again. I'm beginning to wonder if "they" have my address and it must come up on some kind of postcode identification scan.
