Hi all

I purchased this item from ebay.  item but the guy says its a jumper.  I am assuming its a fleece that can be worn alone and can be used in light rain. (like the taiga fleece?)  I've looked on the paramo site but have found nothing, can anyone identify it?

I've not received it yet but apparently there are no markings to suggest a name.

I'd love to know exactly what it is so I can buy an over jacket to wear with it?  It definately looks to have the shine to it like my Cascada so surely its water resistant.

Thanks all

Shirl

Looks remarkably like a Paramo Mountain Shirt to me, one of their reversible shirts with a fleecy side and a woven side.  Fleecy to skin for maximum warmth, other way around to cool off.  Works quite well, aside from having to take it off to change it around.  Same basic setup (and Parameta S fabric IIRC) as the Explorer, but without the through-vent chest pocket.

Not that much like Cascade trousers as it doesn''t have an outer shell of any sort.  It's no more (but alos no less) rain-proof than a conventional microfleece.

I use mine as either base or mid layer.  Consider it as a base-layer light fleece in "warm mode" for thermal matching, slightly cooler the other way about.

 HTH, Pete.

Thanks Pete.

I was hoping it was going to be more like the taiga with the rain repelling but hey they are over £100!

I think it will be a valuable addition to my outdoor collection as I cant see for the life of me how that skinny little cascada is going to keep me warm......

I'd have to agree with Pete - it's a Parameter S shirt. Not water resistant, although it does have an almost magical ability to get soaked without the water getting through to the inside much. One of my favourite fabrics in fact - if only it was stretchy it would be perfect

A mountain pull-on.

They're very comfortable in winter.

Thanks guys.

I did compare it to the mountain pull on when I first saw it, however there were a few things not matching up, such as where the logo is etc.  The seller said they only bought it last year so it should be the current range.

I think I got a pretty good bargain anyway as it seems like a useful bit of kit.... just hope it fits me!

The sort like in your link are a different version to the one currently available.

Paramo were selling your version cheap at the Outdoors Show in 2006 as it was a discontinued version I think. We got one each and they are identical to your version.

Hope this helps.

Thanks all, really appreciate the help.

I've just looked at the reviews for it and it seems perfect for days like now when its getting quite cool at night.

Dying to try putting a few drops of water on it and watch it magically come through the other side.... yes I'm sad but someone on a review said it was great fun!
