A few years ago I discovered a brilliant but simple product - Dry Walker river crossing gaiters. For £16 a pair including P&P these large plastic bags, with laces to secure them round your ankles and thighs, and a reasonbale sole for grip, did the job to perfection!

The trouble is: the supplier seems to have disappeared! Can anyone throw any light on this? Has he gone out of business or just relocated? He was in Edinburgh at www.drywalker.co.uk and variously at 95 Bellevue Road, EH7 4DG (0131 556 9412) and 46 Rodney Street (0131 477 7222). None of these means of contact works any more.

So much easier, simpler and cheaper than Yeti gaiters!

Mike, it sounds like you're looking to source another pair?

I'm pretty sure I have some, acquired years ago via a TGO offer, sitting completely unused in a gear-crate. I can check this evening if you like?

Sorry, I can't shed any light on the whereabouts of the original supplier though....

I tried twice and got no reply. A different solution is to use knee length Sealskinz with rubber pool socks (the things you use in swimming pools to avoid foot infections). If the water's not too cold, you could use the pool socks on their own

This was posted onto the tgo challenge message board a while back:

which has an email address you could try.  The address given is the Bellevue Road one above though, so might not be any use.
