I've just managed to burn a big hole in the wifes 1.8l Platy bladder . I was seeing if I could dry it out more quickly in the microwave, evidently not!

I've been googling to try and find a replacement bladder for it, but can only find the bottle types, with the lid in the middle.

Is there anyone that sells just the normal side exit bladders without hoses? I'd like to get the 1.8 again as it fits better in her pack. Failing that will the 2l bottle work ok with the hose?

Cheers.

I fear that it may be as cost effective to replace the whole shabang rather than just the bladder. Give your wife yours and get this one as an upgrade for yourself

Just to say wet pets and children shouldn't be dried in microwaves either

There's a significant mark up in buying the individual bits of a platypus system rather than the whole thing (bite valve, tubing, bladder) - you're probably best to buy the lot and keep the tubing/bite vave spare.

The bottles with the screw lid sort of diagonally to the side (that do work better with the hydration hose than the centre opening ones) are available separately.

Google for platypus reservoir and you'll find them.

It might be worth having a word with Lindsay Abbotts at First Ascent; you may be able to blag a free replacement if you tell him your story of woe...
