Suitability of Parama Aspira for skiing

Hi

I went to the 2007 OS show in Birmingham intending to buy a Velez touted as a multi activity smock and instead bought an Aspira. They looked very similar but the Aspira has more pockets. I then spent the whole summer unable to wear it as it was simply too hot. Which is a shame as I love wearing it. I won't belabour the point as others have mentioned that Paramo stuff is warm. What I want to know is, is the Aspira suitable for Alpine skiing? Has anyone used it for this?

I hope to do a lot of skiing this year having rented a room in Austria for the season.

Is there  a fundamental difference between the Velez and the Aspira? Is the Aspira a winter version of the Velez?

it is perfect for skiing. i have used a velez and aspira salopettes for a few years now.

something to bear in mind with paramo is that you tend to feel ok rather than warm/hot. usually a  powerstrech fleece is my baselayer.

the aspira is a mountain version of a velez as a simple explanation.

See my avatar!!

I've been using my Aspira smock & salopettes for the last 8 or 9 years for ski-touring & downhilling. I very rarely need more than a Smartwool top underneath.

Aspira & Velez are the same fabric so effectively same warmth, except possibly for venting options. The Aspira has a more prtective hood, more pockets, is slightly longer cut, and, as Parky says, 'more mountain'!

PS I have a Velez too to make that comparison.

OK I get it.  A velez is a winter ( summer during ice ages ) garment. and Aspira is Velez++, which is great as it's coming up to that Aspira time of year.
