I've been looking for ages for a lightweight digital voice recorder and MP3 player that runs on conventional batteries. Now I've found one: the Olympus WS-331M. It weighs only 47g including one AAA battery and has a 2GB capacity. If you want to see a review, I've put one on my blog: http://blogpackinglight.wordpress.com/
