<Sinking fast-style bump> Get yourself a jacket or something, Jamie. I can recommend the Minim Vest btw.

Has anyone tried the Taiga fleeces? Are they as highly regarded as other PHD kit?

Never tried it but it's a similar design to the classic, and now defunct, ME Ultrafleece Mountain Jacket. Interesting and maybe worth a punt at £59? Oh, and of course I meant the Minimus vest earlier.

I have one of these: Taiga Fleece Jacket . It's very good but not totally windproof, similar to Karisma fabric but slightly less 'felty' and more 'fleecey' in appearance (but maybe that's because I've used it more than my Karisma jacket). The cut seems to be slightly more generous than that of their minimus jacket.

Starts today. Ideal opportunity to max out that Egg card before they take it away.

I would like a Combi. Anyone feeling especially generous? If you were planning on donating to the WWF why not cut out the middle man and go straight to the polar bear?
|
 |
 lmao nnpb you low life!!
|
 |
NNPB, as they don't seem to come in white, I think it would be a very poor conservationist who clad a Polar Bear in bright colours; you'd starve for sure. So in your best interests, I shall not be donating to your misguided cause... (and isn't your coat warm enough already?)

I think if you got him a red one Drew would adopt nnpb!

I know this crops up every time there is a PHD sale on but has anyone who ordered, recieved their sale items yet?

I ordered a Taiga Fleece Mountain Jacket on the 7th of Feb and it arrived on the 22nd. Been using it for the last 4 days (just for day walks around Cheshire) and initial impressions are very good, its warm (compared to an ME Shroud) and feels better quality. The windproof front panels are great. Only critisisms are, could have done with 1/2" longer sleeves (to allow the thumb loops to be more useable and perhaps 1/2" longer at the back. That is for a medium build. Pockets are perfectly positioned for use with a rucksack. Cheers, Steve (first post!)

Also ordered Taiga Fleece on 7th Feb within 5 mins of sale going live but not received as yet. They took my money within a day or two of receiving my order but I still await receipt of the goods.Previously ordered Minimus Jacket in sale last August and it took approx 5 weeks to arrive.

SR and TW, thanks for your replies. I phoned PHD today and they reckon sometime within the next week...... cannae wait!!
|
 |
TW, my minimus arrived today three weeks to the day after ordering it on the 7th Feb. If your Taiga hasnt arrived yet it may be worth phoning them for an update. I've had my jacket out for a wee test tonight and I'm well chuffed.

PHD Fleece arrived yesterday in response to an E mail which I sent to them.I know that one person on another forum stated that they did not like it and would be returning it,but to me it doesn't seem a bad bit of kit.Only thing I'm not sure of is the elasticated waistband as on my ME Ultrafleece Mountain Jacket there is a cord round the middle section which is adjusted by toggles.Guess the elastic may take a bit of getting used to but the hood on the PHD seems very good.Overall,I think a good buy for the money.
