Came accross this range of bags on the net and would like to know what present or past owners think of them. Especially interested in the potential weight saving with the all in one air mat sleeping bag combination and the larger bag size.

 Many thanks, Calum

I think that ptc* is testing one of big agnes' bag/mat combos at the moment so he should be able to help you out, have you seen many stockists in the uk?

Thanks for the reply John, and i've found this couple of sites selling a few bags in their range:

http://www.hike-lite.co.uk/acatalog/Big_Agnes_Horse_Thief.html

There are quite a few reviews out there on American sites which on the whole are favourable. The appeal for me is in the weight saving and wider sized bag. My present set up weighs 1.200 for the tight down bag and .900 for the mat, so at 1.380 for the bag and mat the Horse Thief looks appealing.

Aye, I have indeed. The Zirkel is a nice bag, warn, roomy, nice length, good hood. There is a weight saving to be had, but you have to be careful what bag/mat combo you go for.

The mat I'm using is the winter one and although it's lighter than the Theremarest equivalent the packsize is much bigger. Another thing is bag length, the steps up are different from European ones. At six feet the long size fits me fine.

I'm doing a daft stunt with the kit during the week, when I've written it up I'll stick a link on here to it.

There should be quite a few independants with BigAgnes kit in the spring.

a warning about OutdoorGB (extremeGB,SailGB, WatchesGB etc etc) they don't actually stock many things that they show on their website and may have trouble getting hold of things.

OutdoorGB still owe me money (disgruntled customer)

Thanks for that advice Hamish, so that will leave only one UK retailer with any credibility.

I think i'll just have to start taking in that thread on importing from the USA.

Don't. Buy in the UK.  The UK distributer is here;  http://www.isoactive.com/bigagnes/index.php They'll tell you who's getting stock, there's several up here I know that.

Many thanks for that link ptc as i reckon i'll be using it soon and would prefer not to go down the importing from the USA route.
