I spoke to the owner and its still up and running, they are only about five mins away from the ridge and the cost is now £5 per taxi.

We did the ridge last year and met a couple of guys who had tried to book the taxi when they got down to the village and basically got told no chance.  They ended up walking back on the road and were well fed up.

Probably depends what else the taxi firm has on at the time so it may be as well to ring and check before setting off.
