I don't have pockets on my daysack's hipbelt (Vaude Triset) so I have been using a couple of utility pouches on it. Unfortunately, these have a habit of sliding forward towards the hipbelt buckle and getting in the way; I'm constantly pushing them back to the rear.
What I need is a way of keeping them to the rear of the hipbelt but able to be pulled forward when I want something out of them. A loop of shockcord on each side of the pack would seem to be the ideal answer but there is nowhere on the pack at the right level to attach it. I thought that if I could put a metal eyelet in the webbing of each shoulder strap where it attaches to the bottom of the sack, I could pass each loop of cord though that but I have no idea how to go about it.
It would need to be a small-diameter eyelet as I don't want to weaken the webbing excessively. Anyone else done this or, indeed, can suggest an alternative (BTW I'm rubbish at sewing)?
