For cycle touring, so light weight suggestions/recommendations please. Thanks.

The standard answer I think is Terra Nova Laser. I picked up a The North Face Mountain Marathon (1.5Kgs) for £80 from Cotswold a few weeks ago. If you've got a store locally it might be worth asking if they have any left, they were reduced to clear though...

Hilleberge Akto, Saunders Jetpacker, a Lightwave - lots of other options too Just to add, the Vango Spirit 100 can be had quite cheaply

Thanks for the suggestions but after a bit of thinking, could you also suggest a few two person tents. Thanks.

Hilleberg Nallo 2 - 2.1 kg superb 4 season spacious 2 person tent. If this seems like an option for you - then I might just have one for sale

Got any pics? If it's so good why are you flogging it?

Do your research first, I only said I might sell it, on the other hand I may not want to sell it to you now. I wont let my tents go to any old Tom, Dick or Dirty Harry (Ooops Karlos). Once you have read the reviews on Hilleberg Nallo 2 (and checked the price tag), then by all means email me if you feel it is the thing for you. If not theer are hundreds of designs out there.

 What's your budget?

£100-£150 max. That Hilleberg Nallo 2 looks just the job TBH but I fear it would be over budget.

There's some new Force10 tents coming out, the helium, the vapour, etc. There's aq 2 man for about 1.3kg if that's good enough (£200). Cheap for such a lightweight 2 man tent. I'm thinking of getting the 1 man version weighing about 1kg or less but am worried about the internal length being 210cm when I am 196cm (6'5"). Interested in anyone's ideas for a very light weight tent suitable for tall people. Either 2man or 1man. Can be a tarp / tarp tent type of thing. DK - Sorry if this gets your thread hijacked.

The helium 100 is £145-170 depending on where you look and is as Paul says 1kg in weight for a one man tent. The tent has a proper inner not a mesh inner so can be used in proper UK conditions. It is a tunnel hybrid with a main hoop near the front and a short upright stay at the rear. Internal rigidity is aided by internal tensioning system worth a pop?

Vango. They do light-ish and cheap.

Maybe it's the height of the Heliums you should be concerned about, I tried one for size today in a shop, see my first thoughts here Vango Helium.

I don't like the look of that then, I also fancy being able to sit upright and I'm 6'1".

Yer man is looking for a two person tent I think. Vango spirit 200 would fit the bill Karlos. There is also a spirit 200 plus which you can pick up pretty much new for around £100 - £150 These are real stonking tents and have an extended vestibule and are relatively light weight.
|
 |
true, in which case the Helium 200 is also worth a look all in all vango do some damn decent tents (imho)

I'm being a bit awkward actually as I'm not yet decided on a one or two man yet even my planned trips will be solo. I guess I may like the extra room and I do tend to get a bit claustrophobic if I'm honest But that said I really like the look of the Terra Nova Laser, looks quite roomy for a one man jobbie but for once in my life I am trying to stick to my budget (MTBs already cost me a small fortune!).

Blimey this is worse than MTBing, too many choices AAARRGGGHH!!!
