Hi guys and gals
I've pretty much decided to buy a Vango Tornado for this year's camping although I'd still like to hear people's opinions if they have this tent. My only dilemna is: do I go for 2007's Tornado 150 or this year's Tornado 200? I've seen the 150 at very tempting prices, despite the smaller size - I'm not sure why they don't make it any more though?

So, any Tornado owners of either size, I'd love to hear your comments, good or bad.

Thanks!

No reviews of that one on OM here sadly! I don't know anyone out of the regulars on here with one of these, but hopefully one of the not so regulars will come along soon, who has one of these tents, to respond to your thread!

I have been thinking about getting the 300 for a car camping tent. It looks a good one and there are some good deals around.

I am thinking of getting a Vango Spectre 200, which is a lot less tent than your potential buy there, but the price is great at just about seventy quid only! Either that or I will go for that Vango Banshee like Donny!

Trevor - would you be looking at solo camping or two-person?

A little bit of both is what I fancy really. I tend to mostly solo it at the moment though, but still like a good deal of room in the tent so tend to avoid the one person tent market as such!I know they are lighter, but unless weight is a major consideration for one-mountain marathons people etc that require truly lightweight gear-I always feel just what is the point of sacrificing a bit of space in your roving home from home. I do though try to go for tents not much over the 2.65kg of the Banshee, as my old 2.9kg Phoenix is a bit of a heavy tent for me now-especially if there is just me to carry it these days!

http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/tents/5023518579986 That tent is in the sales now at GO OUTDOORS!Myself though I am not a big fan of windows on tent porches I have to admit! If you like them then the tent may definitely be one for you!

I've seen the Tornado 150 much cheaper than that (probably cos it's an old model and they don't do the 150 this year), which is why I'm tempted. The weight and size look great but I'm not sure if it's suitable for what I want to use it for. Ideally I'd like a tent that would suit UK camping and also trekking in hotter climates around the world but I'm fast coming to the conclusion that it's very hard to get an all-round tent at an affordable price...

Some of the Tornados in the sales at the moment are last years tents. Nothing wrong with them and good deals but they are heavyer than the 2008 model.
