Just getting back into walking and want some fabric GTX boots and like the look of the Brasher Towa's.

1) never heard of them but am told there popular  ( cause there cheap or good for the price??)

2) Anyone have an opinion on the Towa's, or even better someone who has them would be good.

Look forward to some useful replies

Got a pair at Christmas. Felt great in the shop but caused me problems early on. I wore them around the house a bit but the first few day walks I went out on they were painful around the front of the ankle - especially coming down off snowdon. Think I was doing them up too tight (my first pair of boots were a pair of hi-tec leather boots - no support so I suppose I was used to tying up tight).

I now do them up looser and they're an absolute dream - still very supportive. Bridgedale coolmax base socks plus the comfort trekkers on top .. feel like I'm walking in slippers all day .. literally!

They 've been through the most horrible conditions with me now, up hill and down dale. Love them to bits. The only part of my kit that didn't get damp out on an expedition the other weekend when it was stormy - I was properly up to the ankles in floods and bogs and stayed totally dry. The soles were a bit lethal on road ice a few months back but I suspect that'd be true of any new soles.

Highly recommended if you don't do them up too tight
