Hi all I was just wondering what people's experiences are like with haglof troos, specifically womens if poss? Also wheres the best/cheapest place to buy? Cheers dinky

My experience was that the legs were longer than mine, so i didn't buy (I was looking at Schoeller ones with a zip ankle, not easily altered). My wife's experience was more the other way around, I can't remmeber if the legs were too short or the hips not right, but bottom line was the wrong shape (she ended up with some Patagonia Guides). So what this boils down to is try them on and see if they're your shape. it's probably more fundamental to comfort than the material or brand. I'd say the best place to buy is somewhere you can try them on... Pete.

My wife has a pair of the rabot Fjell trs & Flex trs, both really comfy. They seem to have lasted very well & she is pleased with them. I would say sizing wise you will struggle above size 16, otherwise as Peter says it's down to the fit on the day ! Stockists, well depends where you live, but I know Outside Hathersage has a good range as does The Climbers Shop Ambleside. www.haglofs.se look at stockists list.

The pants of the gods. The range is all new this season with Rugged, Mid and Lite replacing Nansen, Rabot and Thor. The Rugged Mountain Pant being the best of the bunch I think. They do different leg lengths in most models as well.

how durable is the limm ultimate Q? am i going to rip it at the first opportunity (like i did with my last coat...) or will it stand up to some gd ol backpacking action?
|
 |
It is paclite so will not be as durable as say a proshell jkt, should be fairly durable as long as it's not used very heavily, but the advantage is, it's cheaper & lighter too, a nice piece of kit ! If you need lightweight vs durable it's the way to go, but don't expect it to be bombproof.

I'm going to be the dissenting voice here... not that I've actually worn Haglofs to walk in but I have tried several pairs on and just found the fit is pretty rubbish (I'm a size 12, 5'6" girl). They've all been far too tight right the bum but huge around the thighs and waist with poor movement. I've tried larger sizes but then they're just baggy everywhere and no use for walking at all, especially not if any scrambling is involved. Personally, I walk in Montane terra pants. They seem to have altered something with their sizing recently too and are no longer on the small side. Only gripe is they don't do a women's fit convertible and when I asked, said they have no plans to at the moment, which means my terras get put away when the warmer weather arrives.

They do? Damn! I wish I'd known that.
I have a pair of Rabot something or other and they are a dream to wear, so comfortable and stretchy in the right places but God do I look odd in them. Max Wall would have had nothing on me!

I must admit I love my montane terras also and if its really hot then any old running shorts are fine. I like the look of the Haglofs stuff but I'm not allowed to spend any more money on outdoor stuff

You're right, I'm not fussy with shorts either. Would like convertible terras for the warmer spring and autumn days, though. When I'm not quite sure whether I want trousers or shorts!! As for not being allowed to spend any more on outdoor stuff... nor am I but somehow there always seems to be something I need to try ;o)
