Does anybody know where I can try on some Montane Terra trousers in West/ South Yorkshire?

While I'm at it do I get the standard ones or the ones with the zip off legs?

The Terra pants are excellent

I've just bought some of the terra stretch pants at Winwood £50 inc delivery.

I´ve got the zip offs.  Had no problems from chaffing as a result of the leg zips.  More useful if you think you might wear them in hot weather and (unless they´ve changed the design recently) a little less stand-outish.

They're seriously good trousers, even for year-round use with a pair of thermals underneath. If you see yourself using them mainly in the hot then zips would be worth it, but for 95% of UK hill days you're fine with just the thigh vents and pocket mesh.

I made a mistake when I did the Welsh 3000s, as I didn't bring shorts and it was about 25 degrees in the afternoon, but my terras without zips were still pretty good. Didn't stop me getting some serious dehydration issues though!

I love my Terra Converts - still using the olive/black ones which seem to just go on and on....

Is there a Cotswold Outdoors near you? I know there's one in Harrogate, and they sell Terra pants. I have a pair, they are good, but I had to get an XL pair, and the legs are way too long. Also, I find the zip bit round the legs of the convert ones to be a bit tight around my thunder thighs. Otherwise, ok.

Sounds like I'm having a day out in Harrogate then, think I'll leave the decision about the zippy legs until I get there.

You can get the short leg version here (31 inch IL), http://www.wildtrak.com/product.asp?id=201

My Montane Terra Converts are the longest lasting piece of outdoor kit I have, they are exactly the same as when I bought them many years ago! Brilliant they are!
