Those canny peeps at ALPKIT have done it again... this time with an oh-so-cool matte black version of their Gourdon.

I had fancied one of these for some time but the garish colours with ALPKIT.COM emblazoned across them made me feel like a billboard so I had'nt bothered.... but this new one is so understated....

Can't help feeling that the way the Alpbods have just snuck it up on the site it's very much a special item and as ever - won't be around for long [they've run out of Mytimugs again ]

I've ordered mine and when it comes, if I can be a***d I'll review it.

'Asked'? It's guess the missing word time again here on OM! Damnit I'm just no good at this though! Is it 'Armed' maybe?

It still has their name emblazoned along the side, though not quite as brightly as before. It comes in 3 sizes now too. Hope the new one is more waterproof than mine and they've done something to stop the straps loosening every 5 minutes. You get what you pay for I guess and for the price they're pretty good.

Link to site.

I'm glad they warned us the it's "Not guaranteed to be invisible against radar". Phew, I was just about to buy one too!!

I have one of the Exped bags - a very nice bit of kit; finding the one's with the mesh pockets seems impossible in the UK though

Interjobby.

I've got a canyon/scramble/thingy planned and i'll get one of those.

Aye, the Exped bag kicks Alpkits arse. And isn't branded like t-shirt you bought from TKMaxx.

Actually- I did and it leaks and there's a hole in it after a half dozen outings.

Take it back.

They do a very nice similar pack now at this place here.Firebox.com.

Link here. The backpack one in black is out of stock right now, but more are on order, as it has been a bit of a runaway best seller there it appears. More expensive, but better quality finish here on this kit from Firebox though, it does seem to be to me.

Any updates folks? Specifically interested in the strap issue...
Show/hide user stats
not had a single problem with the straps on the 30L version. The dreaded slipping strap problem of yore seems to have been cured

Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. Another 25 quid gone their way...

I'm starting to look like I'm sponsored by Alpkit.

I have a 25l Gourdon and had no problem with straps slipping - bought in January this year.

my two gourden's where bought about march 08 and are terrible for slipping, constantly having to readjust when the bags full of kit on walks

I have found myself readjusting mine, but I think it's mainly due to my Platypus shrinking as I consume the contents
