For those not in the know, these are English Bluebells, distinguishable from the Spanish variety invading our shores (thanks garden centres ) by the fact that they droop. English Bluebells have the flowers on one side of the stem only, whereas Spanish ones have the flowers around the stem. As a result, Spanish Bluebells stand upright. Best place for Spanish Bluebells is Spain, or your compost heap.

If placed on the compost heap, they must first be left out in direct sunlight for a week or two to kill the bulb, otherwise they will just end up growing again wherever the compost is spread.

I wonder if they ever have a problem in some places over there in Spain, with other introduced foreign Bluebells species to theirs too though?
