Anyone know of a waterproof stuff sack\dry bag (like those made by Ortlieb and Outdoor Designs)that are made to fit a Thermarest?

I haven't found a custom one yet, but I use the nearest, comfortable fit and use a couple of straps to keep it tidy. Not an ideal solution I know, but it works for me

 Should have added 'fit ortlieb'

After a bit of digging around I found Sealine make a range of nylon dry bags to fit Therm-a-rests. The range is called Kodiak. They are made by the same folks as the mats so the fit should be good. The site is American but I'm sure you can buy these in the UK, can certainly get other Sealine bags here. Click here to go to their page.

Thermarests are waterproof arn't they?

 |
The interior lining is but the outer shell that the sleeping bag touches is fabric.

sorry! naive question here as i'm looking to get a mat in the near.
can't you just waterproof the fabric side? or would that knacker up the material?
(i know this will wear off eventually)

I always avoid getting my karrimat or TAR wet, otherwise you've got to dry it off before sticking it in your tent.
Just a thought...

If you roll your thermarest up with the fabric side on the inside, wrap it in a plastic bag and then stuff it in the stuff sack it usually stays dry (well, mine has so far).

 |
Don't you just love the bag provided with the thermarest! Isn't it a snug fit!! Why do they make them, just so it fits and no more???
|
 |
So you can get it down to the size of an arctic roll?

It's one of those things that are deliberatly designed to annoy and frustrate you. Like vending machines that take every coin except the ones you have and cash points that only issue £20 notes the day before payday and you only had £19.99 left.
Rant, rant, rant

I love zombie threads. Although four years isn't as old as some we've had recently, I think that seven years is the record.
But, Haglofs also now do waterproof bags for thermarests.
