Hello

After buying several Paramo garments over the last 8 years i would like to enligten you of its real nature

Overall the material from which they make their garments is of such a fragile nature that it tears easily ( now imagine going up a mountain and rubbing up against a rock face ) and it aint covered under their lifetime warranty!

if you wear a reccomended manmade base layer with their products and you sweat (most people do) you will find that you hold the body odour and smell much longer than you would if wearing natural fibres- makes you wonder if it really works

It never really cleans up - use all the nix wax u want those stubborn stains from normal everyday use just will not come out!

The warranty is absolute rubbish - jokers all the way if your garments fails through normal use it is not covered! - so basically if you buy it put it in the wardrobe and dont use it or you will not be covered - Caveat Emptor- these people are intreseted in getting your money and laugh at you when you phone them!

I would buy a kia car instead with 7 years 100000 mile warranty and not get wet than buy their so called lifetime clothes guranantee- LIfe should mean Life!

Cheers

hope you buy their stuff now

Amer

lol.

would anything give a warantee for "rubbing against a rock" define "rubbing". define the hole you made due to your carelessness/prone to accidents.

"mandmade" fibres for a baselayer against "natural" - what have you worn under goretex for example. by itself it isn't a comparison just a biased uninformed opinion.

you have read their cleaning instructions or advice on this site? whose fault is that if you haven't?

(finds straw bale to feed the goats)

in contrast i've had superb service from paramo. love the stuff.

Not keen on their base layers but everything else is top notch.

lol even more.

judging by the reviews you are undoubtedly a very, very daft person. still, you took the time out to write them.

(is it dark down there?)

perhaps wearing a bib when you eat may help.

credit for the time spent fb.

the cut and paste, i'm assuming, was done by accident after dropping bs on the keyboard and using an ice axe to fail in removing it.

(do keyboards have washing instructions?)

"hope you buy their stuff now"

Don't worry Amer, I already have!

I don't know which garments you've bought, but your experience as recounted is so very different from mine.....

 - Nikwax Analogy garments still going strong after anything up to 10 years of heavy-duty use including skiing, climbing and scrambling (plenty of contact with abrasive rock, snow and ice)

- I've worn both man-made and merino baselayers with Paramo (but not Paramo baselayers). The stink is less with the merino but that's normal whatever shell you choose, and it's no worse with Paramo than when I've worn other clothing systems

- I wouldn't try to clean my garments with 'Nik Wax'! Tech wash or soapflakes cleans them up quite well. For a thorough clean once in a while I'd use detergent first, then tech wash to remove the detergent and then re-proof the garment with TX-direct.

- what exactly do you expect from a warranty? It should cover failure in materials or workmanship, not wear and tear through use. If any manufacturer covered that they'd rapidly go out of business.

- I've always had excellent customer service from Paramo and never been laughed at!

Perhaps they laughed because you approached them the same way you've approached your first post on OM? I do so love it when a disgruntled new poster appears to warn us all off a proven and respected brand on account of their bad experience (or possibly unrealistic expectations...)

Enjoy staying dry in the Kia
