Just been looking at the Gelert stoves and cooksets. They do a mini trangia clone (I own one and it is actually better made than the original) and a pocket rocket clone (not as good but still a reasonable stove from its appearance). Are some of the cooksets copies of the 25 or 27 trangia sets? The website doesn't really say whether the Ascent and altitude cooksets are just pans or include a burner. One has a trangia type brass burner next to the pan but the website overall is unclear. Does anyone know about these or have tried them?
There is a remote canister gas stove (inferno I think), is this any good? For £25 I reckon I am tempted for car camping. What do you guys think? BTW I can't get back to their website because as soon as I navigate to the cookers and burners link it comes up with no page come back later. Funny that as I was there 5 mintues ago. Of course I have come to OM not direct to Gelert for information as this site is quicker for answers, works and you get impartial advice (except advice on Paramo, not very impartial there!)
Do not think there is a burner comes with most of their pot sets, but they do I think do a Trangia stye copy, as do lots of other folks now, as soon will do Alpkit. The cooksets in alu, as sold by Argos are Gelert too apparently, and definitely do not include the burner. Just simply a pan cook set.
There have been many different types of Trangia copies - I have a couple myself; what brand was it please there Robin, was it a leftover HiGear one at all? As I see that there are still a fair few of those around in various shops seemingly now.
