I'm looking for an OMM Villain. Anyone know of a good cheap supplier?

probably The Climbers Shop, Ambleside. I got my Jirishanca from them and as an example it's currently £78.30 compared with £110 (2/3 mins walk away) at Lakes Climber!

I can't find the Villain on The Climbers Shop's website however, but I know they have them as I saw them hanging up in there the other day. Might be worth a phone call.

likeys.com have it at £84.99 (not sure about postage - poss £3.50). Mainly a cycling site that comes way down the google pages. Bought a couple of OMM Duomats recently cheaper than anywhere else and they were delivered the next day).

Likeys Villain seems to be slightly different to the one in my local shop, is there a new model?

Likeys Villain seems to be slightly different to the one in my local shop, is there a new model? That's the older model without the Multi Sport Compressor. The newer model is black like the newer Jirishanca which is also available with the MSC and the (larger) Mountain Mover.

Also I believe two slightly different versions with the MSC - PTCs blog has had a few updates about this. They seem to like tweaking it So may have to take a little care if you really want the absolutely most up to date version. Backpackinglight.co.uk have some in stock at what seem to be fairly good prices. Very nice people. The Outdoors warehouse in Windemere are another 'real world' stockist. Needle sports too from their website.

Lakes climber in ambleside have a lot of freedom to provide you with a good offer if you go in and express intrest in something. I nearly got a £250 larger sized rab sleeping bag for the price of a smaller, heavier and cheaper rab bag at about £170. Couldn't afford it at the time. Outdoor warehouse was what I tried to recommend before my explorer decided it didn't like OM website to be open anymore mid reply. So I back MC up on that shop. The Climbers shop tend to only stock the 32 and 35 litre OMM sacks whenever I have been in (used to be every other week). Needlesport are big OMM stockists so might offer discount. I have contacted OMM through their website form (via the webmaster company as it wasn't set up right and kept sending enquiries to the wrong company). They were quick to reply (called something consultants BTW based in Bolton le sands near me near LAncaster). The answer to my question was that a MM55 was suitable for comfortably carrying weights of about 35kg!! Now that must be wrong.

Sorry that was 27/28 kg for the MM55 or 35kg for the 70 litre MM. Not sure if they are realistic but still. Its Ark consultants BTW for OMM and they can help you find other retailers stocking OMM.

As far as I'm aware, the only updates to the Jiri/Villain/M.Mover range are that they now have water resistant zips to the lid pocket (and side entry on the Villain and MM), and a mesh pocket with vecro in the lid and the sternum strap attachment is different. I'm pretty sure the MSC is unchanged.

OMM also sell a villain without MSC a lot cheaper. Make sure you are getting what you expect

I shopped around and the lowest price for a villian I could find was at HIKE-LITE. About £87 I think, don't think there's any postage cost either. Mine cam in no time at all.

Curious about the climbers shop. My last couple of walks have just 'happened' to pass through Ambleside and I'm sure they had Villains in. So that makes two of us halucinating Perhaps the distribution is, as hinted at by PTC etc, improving a little? I actually got my current classic 32 from Hitch and hike in Bamford, but I don't think they're a reliable source from other visits.

 I wasn't halucinating
