I don't know to be honest, if you've got a bike repair kit, try it. If it works then fine.

If it doesn't then get the official kit.

What have you got to lose?

I reckon it won't work, puncture patches rely on vulcanising cement which only works on rubber (Unless theres been some radical change in bike tyre technology since I were a nipper), TAR outers are made of nylon (I think).

I used the official kit on an original TR mat (don't know if Prolite 4 is the same material) and it looked just the same as the 'cement' in a bike puncture repair kit and worked.  Give it a go, and if it doesn't work try duct tape next.

The instant bike patches work (patch still there a few years later), as will a bit of McNett temporarily. Failing those I have used tenacious tape on one, which worked well.

Duct tape is a big no-no, except for temporary field repairs  (straight from Thermarest's mouth, as it were, and also Rab's when asked about repairing Gore-tex).

For those without a TAR repair kit with their mat - ie maybe you got the mat secondhand - there is available a separate repair kit from TAR especially as an accesssory line; from many outdoors big brand retailers still, or other smaller camping shops.

if its only a pinhole then seamgrip will do the job without the need for a patch.

NeoAirs don't come with a repair kit, and I'm pretty sure I never had one with my Prolite either.

seam grip is really use full for all sorts of outdoor repairs so and if the hole is bigger than a pinhole it can be used to glue the patch in place. Defo worth investing in some.

Speaking of Seamgrip, there's a guy on eBay selling for £3 (inc postage).  It's definitely the real thing (£7.50 at Cotswolds for the same size tube).

Seamgrip will do the job even if the hole needs a patch, but the patch is better if of a similar material to the item being repaired. Mats ,groundsheets, tents, even boots tops if not leather. Cheers.
