I see these are in Cotswold Outdoors for £30 at the moment. I've been looking for a framed daysack does anybody know if these are any good?

I have the 35 +8 version. To be honest I love it.

 Dead comfy - I have a 30+5

 I had a 35 + 8. To be honest I gave it away

Yeah, I sold mine too. It just felt wrong on the shoulders. I bought a MacPac Amp 25 and never looked back!

Yeah, I sold mine too. It just looked so wrong with my off the shoulder merino blouse. I bought a MacPac Amp 25 and never went anywhere!

Yeah, that too.....

I've got one and it never gets used, too short in the back for me really and sinced buying the golite ion thats far better in my opinion for a day sack.

I find, like a lot of people that the length of the Freeflow 20 is just too short to be comfortable and properly fitted. Lengthening the straps makes it sit in totally the wrong place, and with the shoulder straps right the hip belt is too high. They're not bad packs in general, but they don't really come close to the Osprey equivalents, such as the Stratos and Atmos. They are notably cheaper though, even at full price. It wasn't you that called Cotswold in Brum today, was it?

 |
It was indeed and I may wander in tomorrow. :0)
I'm pretty short in the back (and the front) so it may do. I can get it for £35 in Go Outdoor but I travel to Brum for free, my time don't cost anything and I spent a few hundred on another bike yesterday. If I can save a fiver herself will think I am trying hard to economise :0)

I have a short back and it fits really well. Mr S... I got a Amp Race 25 after and never use the Berghaus as it's too heavy IMO for what I use a daysack for. I've just got a Terra Nova 20l Laser Elite, the Macpac has just fell apart on me this last 6 months. The Elite only weighs a quarter of the Amp as well

I have the 35+8 and although it felt weird at the start (seemed like it was always pulling you backwards), I love it now. It's well comfy and airy on the back. However its a complete git to pack because of the curved back system - I still use it for day hikes anyway since its so comfy.

I bought the 20. Only used it once but it seems to fit my back fine. The ones in Cotswold Outdoor at thirty quid had either a bright blue panel or lime green sides. Neither appealed so I went back to Go Outdoor and bought the plain grey at £35. I'm happy with the price because Blacks in Brum had them at £50!
While wandering I managed to lose my leaking Montane Featherlite overtrousers. Somes you wins and somes you lose :0)

Use the 20 all the time. Found it to be extremely comfy, the hip belt is a proper one that carries most of the weight in the right place. The Freeflow back really does work and I've never had a really wet shirt, it can be marginally chilly in winter winds though. Shape is wierd if trying to pack anything other than clothing. I can get a 1 litre flask of coffee into the bladder space, which keeps the missus happy. If you can get it cheap (which is why mine is in baby blue!) it's a bargain.

 |
Excuse me being thick here but where is the bladder space? I just stuck a bottle in one of those mesh outer pockets. I'm missing a modern innovation methinks.
|
 |
Well I thought it was a bladder space...the 'pocket' inside the sack that runs down the back panel, with an elastic 'rim'. Maybe it's just a pocket.
|
 |
I thought it was just a pocket for the next map but you could well be right. I wouldn't know a bladder space unless it was labelled such :0)
|
 |
I don't think mine has a pouch for a bladder.
