Hi All, if like me you like Chrome but can't get OM working on it here is a neat little work around...

1) Install Chrome.

2) Go to the Spanner icon in Chrome and click Extensions.

3) If you have existing extensions click on Get More Extensions, if not skip this step.

4) In the Most Poplular section you'll find IE Tab, install this extension.

5) Once installed you get an IE folder icon top right, click this and an extra toolbar appears at the top of the page, on this toolbar you can go to any webpage and it uses the IE engine but within Chrome.

6) On that toolbar you can click on the screwdriver and spanner icon top right to get to the options for IE BAr. Make sure Auto URL's is ticked and then put http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/* in the entry box and click Add. This means that everytime you go to OM from either a book mark, google or simple typing it in it will always use the IE Tab to open automatically.

This means that I no longer have to come out of Chrome to post on OM.

I know there will be a hundred people come on going, just use another browser or I use Firefox, this was not a thread for you so please ignore and those who love Chrome like myself can hopefully make sense of the above and enjoy.

Just to clarify, in case anyone is using Chrome because they have concerns about security etc of IE (e.g. using a system with IE 6 which has security holes), when using IE Tab, this is actually using IE, just inside Chrome.

So technically you aren't accessing the site with Chrome - just looks like you are.

It's a pity that IE tab hasn't produced a update to work with Firefox 3.6...

However I might have a look at Chrome now due to the above fix.

That is true Rob but if anyone is seriously bothered by IE6 floors just install IE8 over it and it will write over the potential problems caused by IE6, you don't have to use it but just install it anyway as it'll do a lot more good then bad. I tend to have all major browsers installed for testing and try them all out periodically to see which I prefer in case one has improved in a way that suits me or introduced something i like, it had been Firefox until Chrome came along, especially as Chrome synchs my bookmarks to my Google account and shows the same bookmarks on my PC, Laptop and Work PC. A lot of people don't realise you can get an extension now in Chrome to do most things people love about Firefox too.

Does the iPhone Safari show the full size PC version of OM? If so I think you can set Safari to view the mobil version of Om instead... I think. I'll try with my mates at work on Monday, the mobile version of OM does work better on smaller devices, only problem is that the iPhone defaults to the full size version I think. May be completely wrong and probably am but I remember my mate at work showing me a few weeks ago that he could change his iPhone to view mobile versions instead of full versions and he showed me using the bbc website.

So in other words, OM is crappily coded for IE, rather than being coded for international web standards compliant browsers. Well done OM. Er, or not.

I had a play with Chrome the other day, and found it was missing 2 things for me:

Open link in new tab with middle mouse click - solved this with an AutoHotKey macro. (Actually a bit more complicated, as I don't have a middle mouse button, but simulate it with a double right click)

Ability to show tabs when in full-screen mode (most of my browsing is from a netbook) - show stopper for me currently.

I was using a netbook until recently and found Firefox with the TinyMenu Addon the best for overall screen size.

Normal fullscreen works for me with Firefox or IE, the tabs and address bar are hidden until you move the mouse to the top of the screen when they pop out.

With Chrome you need to leave manually full screen to see the tabs or address bar, and then manually go back into fullscreen - to many extra clicks/key presses for me
