We spent sometime with Garmin and GPST last week up in the Lakes using the Garmin range on a very cold hill! Checked out the new All of Great Britain Discoverer 1:50K map, very impressive. In a nutshell contains all of UK on one map, you save £150 and the hassle of carrying three MicroSD cards about!
Anywho, we did an article on it which may be useful to anyone thinking about getting one and also anyone who needs help setting a Garmin up. I worked at Garmin for 2 years and even I learnt something.
Also Ray Mears did a review in the Mail on Sunday which is a nice read >>>Here

Besides the above, I have to say that with OS data about to be freed up, I'd be waiting to see what happened to pricing generally before investing in OS digital mapping in any form. Have a look at the blog by Ed from Anquet in the blogs section, I suspect digital mapping prices may drop dramatically.
Got some information on this from the experts, i'm just the messenger!!
Basically if it goes ahead mapping for some regions may be reduced but these will be very specific areas and likely that the map will not be in the more popular scales. Since maps still need to be updated to include new POI it has been said to me that it is unlikely that popular scales and regions will be reduced, certainly not in the near future.
Don't get me wrong it will be great if it does, will allow a lot of retailers to offer customers a lot more.
