Just need to get this of my shoulder.

Ordered a pair of trousers for my wife on mid February. I had previously written and asked about sizing in their 'Ask the experts' section. No reply, but ordered anyway. Since then I've received no information on the order despite two emails. Nothing.

Rung them up once and got a reply that the trousers are out of stock and should be getting some more next week maybe, or something. Great stuff, cheers. The webpage is a shock and there is nowhere to sign in to check orders. Service is nonexistant.

The trousers are paid for so I suppose I'll have to file a complaint with Mastercard and the police, just like once before when I was cheated. Should get my money back.

I've ordered a lot of gear through the net and this is perhaps the second worst firm I've deat with. The worst was a German site where I had to battle for 6 months to get pair of mitts (which were the wrong size in the end).

But, there are a lot of good companies out there with great service and fast delivery. Peglers.co.uk just isn't one of them.

Have good weekend everyone.

Have you asked Peglers to give you an update or a refund? Definitely worth it before going to credit card company.

Would be worth ringing them as there is no guarantee that your emails are reaching them.

Whilst I've never used them, Peglers seem to have a good reputation for customer service in their shops, so I'm surprised by this report.  But cock-ups do happen.

> No reply, but ordered anyway. Since then I've received no information on the order despite two emails. Nothing.

Has your credit card been charged for the order?

Did you receive an order confirmation?  Do they have your correct email address?

Does it look like Peglers have a proper e-commerce solution in place, or do you think they process such orders by hand?

The lack of response to email is poor, but not that unusual in companies that haven't really got the hang of e-commerce.

It's also pretty poor if they've taken an order for something that is not in stock, and haven't let you know that it's not in stock, and what they plan to do about it.  Again, having a limited e-commerce solution that isn't integrated into real-time stock control is not unusual, but it would be usual to inform the customer ASAP (next day) if the order cannot be fulfilled.

> The webpage is a shock and there is nowhere to sign in to check orders.

I have ordered many things from websites without any means of tracking orders once placed (but I've always received an email order confirmation).  Whilst it would be a nice feature of a complete e-commerce solution, I'd say that it's not uncommon at all for not have such a system.

Don't start wasting the Police's time with this.  Or even your credit card company's.  Ring them or write to them and ask them what's going on.  Most likely, your order has somehow fallen down the cracks.

Hope you get it sorted ASAP.

I shopped in Peglars many years ago and found their service very good.

But their website isn't the best and as such is probably just an add on to the shops.

I also odered an item from Peglers which didn't arrive and they didn't respond to my email, but on phoning them they were very apologetic they hadn't informed me they were unable to get the item. They promised a refund pronto, so not perfect, but they sound essentially decent, if just a little inneficient in terms of web sales. I'd give them a call.

Well, I've now emailed Peglers twice with no answer and phoned them twice as well. Both times I rung them up they seemed surprised and promised to sort it out and get back to me. Which they didn't.

So I phoned up my credit card company and it turns out I have internet insurance for things like this so should get my money back without much trouble.

I guess I've been lucky ordering gear on the net before, not having to deal with many of these fraudulent companies.

Careful! I wouldn't bandy that particular F word about indiscriminately or at all unless you are willing to back it up legally.

It is amazing how people take some things personally, and can put the most negative spin on events. A cock-up doesn't equal deliberate, willful criminality, and suggesting it does through comments about fraudulent behaviour could very well get you into serious difficulties.
