Got 4 days booked off at the end of august and the good wife has agreed to ditch the car and walk some sort of circuit route for the 4 days and camp along the way. Can anybody suggest a good route and campsites, dont mind wild camping for a night and the wife is pretty fit, ahem, you know what i mean !! This could be the build up to her agreeing to do a long distance path next year so need to make it a good un.

Thanks in advance

Look at walking the Rob Graham Round ( google for route ) to and from Keswick, 42 peaks.I did it in 3 days but it could be slowed or extended-add a bit of the Cumbria Way from Keswick say to Skiddaw House and back via Bassenthwaite. I camped at Threlkeld after a pub meal and Dunmail Raise.

It'll be very hilly! (but a good enough route.).

Basically what you get from using B&B's (and more so from tents) is freedom from having to return to the same point. So good for long linear walks through passes, or over chunks of hills where they line up in a row.

The Lakes has a fair number of both such situations so, given a map, its easy to create a route to taste
