Where and who are the best, cheapest laminated map suppliers???
I am looking for 1:25000 OS maps for mountain walking purposes to be laminated to keep waterproof.
Cheers

Here's one for starters:

The OS mapshop doesn't mention whether it sells laminated ones, but you can look up all the OS suppliers in your area from their site:

Slap it down on a hard floor and use transpaseal...it ends up a lot smaller than a pre-lammied one.

I have tried sourcing Transpaseal on the net and it comes up with the "company is no longer?"
Where could I obtain it from please JJ

Owy: If you look in the archives, you should find an OM article reviewing Aqua3 somewhere. I've got one of their laminated maps (for my home area); it's more durable than just a plain paper one & generally does the job well. When I bought mine, I think they were quoting a 3 WEEK delivery time. If they still are, don't believe them, they lie! They are reasonably quick in practice.

I use Aqua3 for all my laminated maps and would highly recommend them. Much more flexible than laminated and really durable. Oh and in my experience they normally take 10 days to deliver.

Can you get Aqua3 for all areas of the UK?

Are they in 1:25,000?
Show/hide user stats
They produce all OS 1:25 & 1:50 maps. So in answer to your question - yes!

I seem to remember if Aqua3 dont have the map you want if you send them an unlaminated version they will laminate it for you at a price.

Has anyone used Nikwax Map Proof?

Comes in a small plastic bottle with a sponge applicator.
We sell it but I've never actually used it!

I scan relevant bit of map and laminate it myself with signmakers clear anti graffiti film. very tough and thin, so it folds well and saves having to carry a whole map.[I dont walk far]
