Rab Photon Hoody
Sizing advice needed...

I'm sorely tempted by one of these: seems great insulation and functionality for the weight and price (85 quid at TowerRidgeDirect.co.uk).

First question: can anyone who has one help me relate the product sizing to their chest size (I'm a bloke BTW)? With just a polo shirt on I'm a 45 inch chest. I'd plan to wear the Hoody just over a base layer most times. Rab say sizing is:

L = 39 to 41 inches chest
XL = 42-45 inches
XXL = 46-48 inches

What I'm after is someone who has a Photon and can say the size it is, what their chest size is and what they wear under it.

Second question: I'm a warm bunny generally (most times I wear a base layer and Ultrafleece jacket). Would the Photon be boiling hot except in the depths of winter?

Cheers all.

I bought one and and am a similar size to Cemlyn and found the large a generous fit. One word of warning was the chuff size. I have quite large hands (my farming heritage) and found the cuffs quite tight even with the velcro adjustment undone. As a result I sent mine back as I knew this would annoy the hell out of me and make it difficult to wear over garments as a light weight belay jacket.

If you don't have larger than average hands then its a top garment with excellent features.
Thanks very much guys. Looks like XL would be right for me. I have average hands so the cuffs will be ok I think.
