I normally favour a synthetic sleeping bag for the warm when wet idea but having tried the crap PLCE army one, a vango jobbie and a snugpak merlin over the vango, im finally sick of the bulk, weight and the financial cost of synthetic warmth (which always seems to have exaggerated temperature ratings)

With a 4 week trip to peru coming up soon, i need a minimum of a comfort at minus 10-15 degrees bag with reasonably low cost and low weight, prefferably low bulk too. Are there any decent synthetic ones which would offer this? And can anyone suggest a down bag which fufils this spec? thanks a lot for any feedback.

Ive got an Iceline :-P sorry but thats just to annoy Cara.

I would recomend it though its a nice bag and designed for that altitude and you can usulay get them at a good price at the outdoors shop.

Julie, I only clicked on this thread because I was thinking "hmmm I bet Julie was the first to respond". And yes, you were, and yes, I was right.

In fairness though, if/when I do high altitude stuff like that, then yes, I'll get a down bag :)

Just picked up two 2005 Rad Atlas 750s from the Snow and Rock site for £126.00 each. They should be £180 but they've miss priced them. Go to the sale section and then into page 2 of the camping bit and you'll find that the left zip version is 126 quid. It's probably too light weight for you but you could always stick a fleece liner in . They warned me that they mean to change the website so get in there quick
