Vaude Taurus Ultralight vs. North Face Tadpole 23

Any thoughts?

Want to get a light tent at around the price of these two. Any help in decision making would be greatly ppeciated.......

I have a Taurus 1 which is identical to the Ultralight in shape and size, it's just 2.3kg rather than the lower weight Ultralight.
I like it a lot, it's stood up to 70mph winds no problem (although a 78mph gust proved a bit much for it!) and it's lovely and roomy for one person. Not nice with 2 though, since all gear then has to go in the (small) porch since there is no room for 2 people plus gear inside.
See my review on the site. Not tried the Tadpole so can't comment :)

Can't comment on the Taurus but the Tadpole is very light and sturdy but a bit cold. Considering the weight, the size is fine and I've shared it with my wife and two 70 litre packs while walking around the Alps. It was a squeeze but we managed fine and we're very glad it was so light.

Tadpole here! bought it so the wife didn't have to carry half the tent when in the pyrenees (theres a nice chap!) very light, easy to put up and (very handy) easy to get back in the bag! can be a bit on the nippy side due to excessive meshing (fly sheet not reaching the ground doesn't help either!) on the whole very pleased but will soon be trying to convince wife of the merits of the mountain equipment AR
